Samantha Davis is an artist and theologian based in Seattle Washington. As an artist, Samantha works primarily in abstract watercolor and altered text. She is a self-taught painter whose professional arts training is primarily in pottery and sculpture. The influence of these three-dimensional mediums is evident in her current work. The depth achieved by the light refracting nature of watercolor pigments suspended over bright paper and the tactility of her altered books all echo the geometric nature of her training in three-dimensional forms.
Samantha currently resides in Seattle, where she facilitates Altered Text Workshops as a therapeutic tool for trauma recovery, paints as much as she can and invests untold hours in roaming the beach looking for sea glass.
Samantha holds a B.A. in Religion and the Arts from Belmont University and a Master of Arts in Theology and Culture from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.
